Fat versus Muscle

I posted this picture on my facebook page and it got a lot of response. I guess being able to visualize muscle versus fat really helps a lot of people see. Your scale might not move but your clothes will fit differently as you lose the fat. I personally don't have scales. I would weigh myself everyday if I did and I know that is self-defeating.

An update on my P90X2 workouts. So far I am liking P90X2 workouts better than X1. Of course the beginning is focusing on core stability so we'll see in about 3 more weeks what some of the other workouts are like.

The new plyometics (Plyocide is the name of the workout) is actually fun, at least for me. I like it much better than the X1 plyo. It's has some new ways of doing stretches too. I think I might actually increase my flexibility with X2.

I'm in an accountability group to workout everyday and it's help me make sure I find time to exercise, even if I don't get up early in the a.m. to exercise. I've had a few bad nights of sleep so I've been choosing the two hours of sleep over exercising in the morning. I then have been making sure I exercise sometime during the day. This has helped. Plus I always get a better workout in the afternoon, it's just easier to get them out of the way when no one else is awake early in the morning.

Have a great week.

Found this article and wanted to share. I don't have all of these in my diet, but I have more than half :) Love some of this stuff, some I still have to try, like kale.

2012 here we come

Well Here we are it's January 1st. I have to admit I didn't workout today, but I will start on Monday January 2. I have 4 days left of my Brazil Butt Lift work out. Then it's off for a couple of days while I take my fitness test for P90X2 and get ready to start what looks to be an incredible workout for 90 days.

Since I have my workout goals inline for the next 3 months, I also have to work on my nutrition. Last year I actually followed thru on my goal of eating healthier and cleaner. Now in 2012 we are really going to be cleaning it up even more. I did manage to get rid of most processed foods, with the occasional bag of chips for the 'natural' section of the store, but this year I mean to be even better and work to make it more fresh foods, nuts and berries. We pretty much only eat poultry as our meat source here, so replacing some of that with non-beef, non-pork and non-soy protein is the goal. Though we do have red meat, pork and fish from time to time, with a husband trying to follow the gout prevention diet, we are limited in that ways anyways.

I look forward to eating even better this year! Of course I'll continue drinking Shakeology every day.  I feel as though I have so much more energy and just all over healthier because of it.

Happy New Year! Let's all work toward our goals in 2012.
