Homemade Finger Paints

So I'd also like to share with you things that I find that can make you healthier in other ways, like making your own household cleaners without the chemicals.  Here's something I just came across on faceback for making your own fingerpaint.

Mom, Student, Coach-- Should I add 5Ker?

Okay, So I am a wife and mom first and foremost. And I always will be. Anything I do that isn't related to the first two gets shifted down in priority. But I've become a student again in the past couple of months. (Not that I haven't been a life student and constantly looking for the best way to raise my child over the past four years. Sometimes I think I look up stuff on my child just to make sure I'm not screwing things up too bad. lol)

So I am studying to become a medical transcriptionist. That is the student part. And I'm thankful for my editing and writing background. I know I picked the right medical-related thing to go into. Medical coding and billing is big, but I think I will enjoy this much more as it uses skills that I already know and enjoy.

I am a Beachbody coach and I love helping people work toward their fitness and health goals. (So message me if I can help you :) )

So as I've noted in previous blogs I have done P90X and Brazil Butt Lift and am in the middle of P90X2 right now. So I am looking at adding some jogging/running to my routines and thinking that I might want to try a 5K this year sometime, most likely in the summer or fall. Guess I better see what event I want to do and start looking for some training schedules for a 5K. I really think I want to do this. So many help charities, and I have a couple close to my heart. Better start looking :)

An Amazing Year

Today I celebrate my 43rd birthday. It would be just another birthday except that today I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life. I truly never expected to be in the shape I am in today.

The last time I was nearly this healthy or looked like this, I was 15. And honestly I wasn't that healthy. I was a teenager, and my main drink of choice was Mountain Dew! But when you are 15, and your metabolism is high, you are running track everyday and riding your bike 8 miles a day so you don't have to ride the bus to school, you don't notice those MDs and Snickers Bars...

Eleven months ago my weight had been inching up and up and up, mostly from lack of exercise and not really paying attention to what I was eating. I had finally broke down and bought a couple of pairs of jeans in a larger size. Once again an infomercial came on for P90X and my husband commented that he heard it worked, as long as you followed the nutrition plan. So I decided to give it a try.

I saw results within the first 3 weeks. I was quite amazed. I had never had any fitness program--home workout, gym workout, class workout-- do what this had done before. I could see my abs. I always just assumed I was one of the person who couldn't do that. This is my Day 1on the left and Day 90 (really Day 100) pictures with P90X. I've been continuing to workout and eat healthy. And have managed to keep my weight off.

Today I have completed two rounds of P90X. I decided to try Brazil Butt Lift workout for a month. What fun, what a core workout and what a workout.  Don't let the name fool you. If you try it you will get a workout and you will get results.

Now I am doing P90X2. It's been a change up from P90X. Here's a my starting pic for P90X2. (I really don't like taking this pictures in case you can't tell from my expression.)

I've just started P90X2's Phase 2. Looking forward to the variety the workout brings.

I am now a Beachbody Coach. If I can help you get to your fitness goals, message me. I have a 90-day fit challenge (and it doesn't have to be with P90X) starting in March. The challenge gives you support, accountability and if you get the March group - we'll be ready for swimsuit season!

Fat versus Muscle

I posted this picture on my facebook page and it got a lot of response. I guess being able to visualize muscle versus fat really helps a lot of people see. Your scale might not move but your clothes will fit differently as you lose the fat. I personally don't have scales. I would weigh myself everyday if I did and I know that is self-defeating.

An update on my P90X2 workouts. So far I am liking P90X2 workouts better than X1. Of course the beginning is focusing on core stability so we'll see in about 3 more weeks what some of the other workouts are like.

The new plyometics (Plyocide is the name of the workout) is actually fun, at least for me. I like it much better than the X1 plyo. It's has some new ways of doing stretches too. I think I might actually increase my flexibility with X2.

I'm in an accountability group to workout everyday and it's help me make sure I find time to exercise, even if I don't get up early in the a.m. to exercise. I've had a few bad nights of sleep so I've been choosing the two hours of sleep over exercising in the morning. I then have been making sure I exercise sometime during the day. This has helped. Plus I always get a better workout in the afternoon, it's just easier to get them out of the way when no one else is awake early in the morning.

Have a great week.

2012 here we come

Well Here we are it's January 1st. I have to admit I didn't workout today, but I will start on Monday January 2. I have 4 days left of my Brazil Butt Lift work out. Then it's off for a couple of days while I take my fitness test for P90X2 and get ready to start what looks to be an incredible workout for 90 days.

Since I have my workout goals inline for the next 3 months, I also have to work on my nutrition. Last year I actually followed thru on my goal of eating healthier and cleaner. Now in 2012 we are really going to be cleaning it up even more. I did manage to get rid of most processed foods, with the occasional bag of chips for the 'natural' section of the store, but this year I mean to be even better and work to make it more fresh foods, nuts and berries. We pretty much only eat poultry as our meat source here, so replacing some of that with non-beef, non-pork and non-soy protein is the goal. Though we do have red meat, pork and fish from time to time, with a husband trying to follow the gout prevention diet, we are limited in that ways anyways.

I look forward to eating even better this year! Of course I'll continue drinking Shakeology every day.  I feel as though I have so much more energy and just all over healthier because of it.

Happy New Year! Let's all work toward our goals in 2012.
